In the month of Jewish holidays,
graffiti struck the Jewish community. Oy.
Election Day is tomorrow. <sigh>
As I have older, reflected on my political science and history degree, and what I really want out of our elected representatives, I think I've gotten a bit cynical. Those that know me know that I haven't shied away from my frustrations and thoughts on the 2016 election. Here thought, I want to discuss how to truly make a difference. Yes voting is important, but our day-to-day life is not going to change a whole heck of a lot come November 9... or January 20. You want to make a difference, do something in your community. Go volunteer. Go meet your neighbors. Take a class. Learn about local issues. Go report graffiti. :) Don't rely on others (except G-d of course) to make your life or community better.
And here's October's graffiti...
Sunday October 2 (Erev Rosh Hashana)
| Oh look... trash on the corner of 18th and Catharine. |
| Broad and Bainbridge |
| Broad and Bainbridge |

Wednesday October 5 (Fast of Gedaliah)
Fast day after Rosh Hashana. I walked to and from services.
| 18th and Pine |
| 18th and South |
| 20th and Chestnut - reported to Center City District... no luck getting them to respond. |
| 18th and Bainbridge |
Thursday October 6
| 1500 Block of Catharine. According to the City, sneakers on power lines should be reported to PECO. They have not been responsive... will try next time I see them. |
Friday October 7
| Off Exit 20 of I95 on Columbus Blvd. |
| Near 18th and Fitzwater |
Sunday October 9
| By the JRA Warehouse in Northeast Philly |
| Also in the Northeast - the City said they couldn't find graffiti at this location. <sigh> |
After JRA, I went to the Farmers Market. As always, more stuff in Queen Village.
| 4th and Monroe. The fabric folks who supplied fabric for decorations for our wedding. This was my old block. |

Monday October 10
| 18th and Christian |
| 1600 Block of Carpenter |
Tuesday October 11 (Erev Yom Kippur)
| 1300 Block of Lombard |
| 5th and Lombard |
| Small hole in the middle of the intersection of 18th and Webster. The City couldn't find it when they came out. <sigh> |
Thursday October 13
| 6th and Lombard |
I parked and walked home down Fitzwater. Trash and graffiti. I think I found the person (rather likely one of many people responsible for dumping trash at 18th and Catharine because he left a box with his name and address on it. Of course, by the time the City came out to inspect, it was already gone.
| Trash at 17th and Fitzwater |

Friday October 14
| 500 Block of Lombard |
| 11th and South |
Sunday October 16 (Erev Sukkot)
More stuff through Queen Village to the Farmers Market and then stuff on the way to CVS later in the afternoon.

Thursday October 20
Walk with the wifey around the Graduate Hospital area.

Sunday October 23 (Erev Shemini Atzeret)
Relatively normal Sunday... except for the mother-in-law coming into town and a Jewish holiday starting that night. I guess Ford is hiring graffiti artists to put information up about the all-wheel drive Ford F150. Most of the items are in Queen Village as I took a scenic route down Gaskill to get to the Farmer's Market and then back up Lombard.
| 19th and Christian |
| 12th and Pine |

Friday October 28
| 34th and Wharton |
Sunday October 30
| 5th and Lombard |
| 18th and South |
| 18th and Pine |
I had to take my care to PepBoys (new car... thought it would just be an oil change... but no... there has to be a nail in the tire and the brake pads are going... <sigh>). I walked from PepBoys to Target on Water St. It's a road between Columbus Blvd. and Front St.

Monday October 31 (Halloween)
I parked on the 1600 Block of Carpenter. Graffiti there as usual.
